“Beyond the city's chaos lies the countryside's wilderness, calming the stress that the busy city can bring. In my work, I seek to discover the hidden meanings in our lives related to human nature. In the studio, I continue to explore ways of interpreting life using material and experiences in a personal and universal way.”
Rippleton Schoolhouse Community Day at Lorenzo - On Sunday, September 21st, from 1:00 to 4:00pm, Friends of Lorenzo will host Rippleton Schoolhouse Community Day. Since being relocated to the Lorenzo grounds in 1997, the Rippleton Schoolhouse has served as a place to “live history” with hundreds of Central New York students attending classes in our restored one-room schoolhouse each year. Friends of Lorenzo host this annual event welcoming “kids of all ages” to crafts, cider and donuts, horse-drawn wagon rides with Lamplit Farm, and pumpkin decorating! This year’s event will feature an interactive presentation of Children’s Toys and Games by Shari Crawford. Cherry Valley Spinners & Fiber Artists will demonstrate wool spinning, and School Mistress Mattie Buckland will be on hand to offer tours and a chance to experience life in a one-room schoolhouse. Rippleton Schoolhouse Community Day is a “rain or shine” event that is free and open to the public.
