Executive Director
Part Time: 10 - 15 hr/wk

Background
CazArts is an alliance of area arts organizations, individual artists, and the public that effectively promotes the creation and appreciation of arts. Located in rural Madison County in Cazenovia, New York, CazArts operates artist studios, classes and program space from the Village of Cazenovia's historic Carpenter's Barn.

Position
CazArts seeks an experienced and passionate arts professional interested in growing alongside this robust, community-oriented organization.

Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director directs and administers all programs, operations, and policies in close collaboration with CazArts' Carpenter's Barn Program Director and the Board of Directors.

  • Plan and implement events that benefit CazArts' artist members and community members, including art sales, exhibitions & members gatherings.
  • Participate and nurture the growth and development of the larger area arts community.
  • Grow the existing September Arts Festival in partnership with community organizations and artists. This includes incentivizing participation and attendance and collaborative marketing efforts.
  • Assist the Board of Directors in fundraising efforts including grant writing, membership, donor cultivation and stewardship, and event and scholarship sponsorships.
  • Develop content for the CazArts' newsletter and social media platforms that grows awareness and interest the arts and in CazArts' programs and events.
  • Manage financial strategies of the organization in close collaboration with the Board of Directors. This includes bookkeeping, grant tracking and reporting, and budget development.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience/Qualifications

  • 3 years professional experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization, with significant experience in the arts or a related area; prior experience as President or Executive Director is a plus.
  • Master's degree in a relevant non-profit administration, art, or art education field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Cazenovia area arts community is a plus.
  • Proven record as a successful fundraiser
  • Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all sectors of the community, the Village Board of Trustees and staff.
