I'm a half plein air, half studio artist. Often I will start my paintings blocking in with acrylic and then go over the whole painting with oils. I love to be outdoors and my paintings show that. I grew up in Central New York fishing, hiking and spending alot of time in the woods. My love of nature and my passion of painting are a perfect match. I also love to travel, gathering inspirations everywhere I go. I tend to paint more or less realistic with a touch of impressionism. I sometimes use odd tools to apply paint to the canvas. I use cut up credit cards, pallet knives, spoons, crinkled paper, my fingers...whatever it takes to get it on!
